The chance to be a part of this happens briefly. The invitation is not to show how inventive and imaginative you are, but how much you can notice what you've already got
-- and appreciate it, and share it... - Bergs

ABOUT ANNIE DECAMP ART
I am a Colorado-based encaustic painter. My interest in history, archeology and anthropology moved me toward the subject of Native Americans. I am interested in their story and overall aesthetic, but mostly what it means to be human in our best and worst times. Each subject I paint deepens my sense of connection to self and others. As a species, our survival depends on our ability serve our highest purpose, and that requires a lot of stamina and creativity. I believe we are always and simply in a state of becoming.
Prior to painting I designed jewelry for many years drawing on my lifelong interest in how cultures adorn themselves as a way of spiritual, emotional and social expression. After taking a break from jewelry, I realized I missed working with wax and wanted to work with it in another form. Encaustic painting blends beeswax with pigment and a damar rezin as a natural hardening agent.
I earned my B.A. degree from University of California at Berkeley with a focus on Ancient History, Art History and Anthropology.
